When home starts to feel overwhelming, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
If your child’s behavior leaves you feeling frustrated or drained, or you find yourself saying the same thing over and over with no results, it may be time for support. Whether it’s meltdowns, constant power struggles, or challenges with routines, sleep, or transitions, there are ways to bring calm and connection back into your family life.
I work with children, teens, adults, and families who are navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, autism, oppositional or defiant behaviors, and general family system stress. Many of the families I work with have children who struggle to accept “no,” follow directions, or manage big emotions. Together, we focus on building understanding, improving communication, and developing tools that support cooperation and growth at home and beyond.
Parents often find great success through Parent Management Training (PMT), a structured, evidence-based approach that helps create more positive and cooperative family dynamics. My favorite part of this work is watching families move from frustration and exhaustion to confidence and connection. It’s incredibly rewarding to see independence, resilience, and mutual respect blossom over time.
Whether you are an individual or a family seeking a more harmonious home environment, know you are not alone and there is hope. I strive to create a safe place for healing and growth, using evidence-based therapeutic protocols to help you reach your goals, including:
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)
SPACE-ARFID (for extremely selective eating)
PMT (Parent Management Training)
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention)
Play Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
You and I will work together from a holistic, growth-oriented perspective—looking at all areas of your life and aiming for progress, not perfection. Therapy should feel like a meaningful part of your journey, not a chore. This is your time to explore what’s not working, build on what is, and feel respected, safe, and heard every step of the way.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology (1995) and Master of Social Work (1998) from the University of Pittsburgh. Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of working across a range of settings—including outpatient mental health, research, residential treatment, and independent living programs—which has given me a broad perspective on how people grow, heal, and thrive at every age.
And outside of the therapy room I’m a real person too! I enjoy the chaos that comes with a long-time marriage and a neurodiverse family life. You’ll often find me walking my dogs, catching up with friends, spending time with my adult children (when they let me), or enjoying a good laugh and a great comic book.
