Jaimee McMullen has unwavering commitment as a mental health counselor, using art and expressive therapy as a powerful tool to connect with her clients on a deeper level. She believes in the healing potential of creative expression and the transformative power of empathy.

Jaimee’s journey began with a passion for both psychology and art. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, and Art from Columbia College, Columbia, MO, she knew she wanted to combine these interests to make a difference in people’s lives. This led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Art Therapy from Adler University. It was during her studies that Jaimee discovered the profound impact that creative expression could have on the healing process.

Jaimee’s approach is to create a safe and nurturing space for her clients. She firmly believes that healing begins when a strong therapeutic relationship is established, built on empathy, trust, and genuine care.

Jaimee’s is comfortable with using traditional models of therapy but her use of art and expressive therapy has been a game-changer for many of her clients. Through various creative mediums, she helps individuals explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a non-verbal and cathartic way. Art therapy allows her clients to tap into their inner resources, discover their strengths, and process trauma or difficult emotions.

Jaimee firmly believes in helping her clients align their values with their personal and professional goals. By exploring their passions and dreams, she assists them in creating a roadmap to life that promotes balance, self-care, and well-being. Jaimee encourages her clients to foster personal growth and resilience.

Jaimee’s expertise has led her to work in various settings, including inpatient facilities, partial programs, and intensive outpatient programs. She has successfully employed art therapy techniques to aid individuals in overcoming personal struggles, stress, and trauma.
