Emily Clemens

Emily Clemens is a pediatric speech language pathologist passionate about play-based, child-driven learning and ethical, robust assessment (multilingual, neurodiverse, etc). Her practice prioritizes her clients feeling safe, engaged, and empowered.

Emily received her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her master’s degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Eastern Illinois University. She holds an Illinois license for speech language pathology, a professional educator license (PEL) in speech pathology, and a certificate of clinical competency (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Over the last 8 years, Emily has worked at both school and clinic settings across the suburbs with clients ages 2-22 years old. She has experience with communication concerns related to stuttering, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, speech sound disorders, selective mutism, and more, including the use of a variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Emily has also consulted with the Illinois Migrant Education Program for several years to support their students.
