Speech Therapy
Beth Wilcox
SLP
Beth has been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 1997. She earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at Indiana University. Having wanted to be a Speech-Language Pathologist since high school, she was very lucky to have a wonderful mentor to help guide her career path.
Beth began her career working with the geriatric population in skilled nursing facilities. She gained a lot of clinical knowledge in the study of Dysphagia (swallowing disorders). Due to her expert experience and knowledge, she was promoted to the Rehabilitation Director for a large facility.
When Beth’s son was born in 2010 and it changed her career trajectory. Her son has some challenges that have resulted in needing pediatric therapeutic intervention. Through her experience with her son, she realized in supporting her son in services that she wanted to be an advocate for kids like her son and that her years of expertise were better suited to serve the pediatric population. Beth believes this was the best decision she’s ever made. Beth thinks it has been a privilege to be a part of her patients’ lives and watch them grow and blossom into amazing young adults!
Outside of being Beth the SLP, she loves to travel, exercise, read, do crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and hang out with her family and friends. Her son, husband and Beth fulfilled a lifelong dream this year and put some roots down in Arizona (our happy place). Illinois will continue to be their primary residence, but it’s a joy to watch the sunset over the mountains whenever we can!
