Speech Therapy

Amanda Daneker SLP-CCC

I believe every child deserves the opportunity to communicate with confidence and experience the joy that comes from connecting with the people around them. My goal is to create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel excited to learn, explore, and discover their own voice. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing a child light up when they realize they can successfully communicate a want, need, or idea.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Special Education, from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Before pursuing graduate school, I spent a year working as a Registered Behavior Technician, supporting children with autism and gaining valuable experience in child development, behavior, and family collaboration. I went on to earn my master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Western Illinois University and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), awarded by the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I am also certified in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).

I am especially passionate about working with infants, toddlers, and young children with speech and language delays because I believe early intervention lays the foundation for lifelong communication, learning, and social success. I enjoy partnering with families during these important developmental years and helping children build communication skills that will support them for years to come.

My clinical interests include early language development, articulation and speech sound disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), following directions, learning foundational concepts, and developing communication skills that support independence in everyday activities. Whether a child is saying their first words, improving speech clarity, learning to communicate through AAC, or strengthening language skills, I enjoy helping them reach meaningful milestones while celebrating every success along the way.

My approach to therapy is play based, individualized, and child centered. I believe children learn best when they are engaged and having fun, so I build therapy sessions around each child’s unique interests and strengths. Whether we are pretending, playing games, reading books, or exploring new activities, I strive to create experiences that motivate children to communicate naturally. I also believe that building strong relationships is the foundation of successful therapy. By getting down on a child’s level, earning their trust, and making therapy enjoyable, I help children feel comfortable taking risks and trying new communication skills.

I value partnering closely with parents and caregivers because some of the greatest progress happens outside the therapy room. I enjoy collaborating with families, sharing practical strategies, and empowering parents to confidently support their child’s communication development during everyday routines and interactions.

Families can expect me to bring a playful, creative, and encouraging energy to every session. I love incorporating each child’s favorite toys, activities, and interests into therapy because when children are motivated and having fun, meaningful learning naturally follows. There is nothing more exciting than watching a child become eager to communicate and seeing the pride they feel as their confidence continues to grow.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, taking adventures with my family, walking my dog, traveling, and baking something sweet and delicious. These experiences remind me of the importance of connection, creativity, and making joyful memories, values that I also bring into my work with children and families.

My hope is that every child leaves therapy with greater confidence in their ability to communicate and express themselves. I want families to feel supported, empowered, and equipped with the tools to help their child continue growing long after each session ends. Above all, I want every child to discover that their voice matters and that they have the confidence to be the communicator they were meant to be.
